• July 2010 - Law & Medicine is awarded "Accreditation with Commendation" through July 2016, by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Accreditation with Commendation is the ACCME's highest level of recognition and is awarded to CME providers who meet all of the ACCME's standards for excellence in medical education. Nationally, less than 10% of CME providers are awarded Accreditation with Commendation and Law & Medicine is the only provider of medical-legal education to achieve this level of recognition.
  • June 2010 - Law & Medicine adds a new educational module, "Avoiding Malpractice Lawsuits." In the 50 minute audio module, Dr. Cotton analyses lawsuits from a scientific perspective and discusses practical ways to avoid being sued.

  • March 2010 - Law and Medicine would like to introduce the Law and Medicine Research Institute. The Law and Medicine Research Institute is dedicated to the scientific study of the intersection of law and medicine. The Institute contains links to important medical-legal studies, commentary on these studies, information from our own areas of research, and scientific papers that Dr. Cotton has published.
  • March 2010 - We welcome Julie Horst back to Law and Medicine. Julie has worked in the legal field as well as a speaking engagement liaison with major Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Companies. Julie will now coordinate Dr. Cotton's busy lecture schedule. We are thrilled to have her back on the team.

  • March 30, 2009 - ACC.09 - Law & Medicine President, Victor Cotton, MD, JD, received an unsolicited invitation to speak at the American College of Cardiology's annual scientific meeting on medical-legal issues. This meeting is the largest of its kind and is attended by 17,000 physicians from around the world. Dr. Cotton's presentation was an overwhelming success and his Q & A session went well past the allotted time, as the physician participants engaged Dr. Cotton in his strategies to risk management and solutions for medical-legal dilemmas.
